IQ Plus EHP Reagent Set

Enterocytozoon hepatopenaei (EHP), is an emerging micro-sporidian parasite for penaeid shrimp, which has been associated with growth retardation and significant losses in farmed shrimp. EHP is transmitted directly from shrimp to shrimp by the oral route. It has been found in the tubules in the shrimp’s hepatopancreas and associated with damages in the organ which eventually may lead to malnutrition and growth retardation in shrimp.

With the technology transferred from the University of Arizona, Prof. Donald Lightner’s research team, GeneReach has successfully developed the IQ Plus™ EHP Reagent Set based on iiPCR technology which is highly sensitive and specific for EHP detection. It is specially designed for on-site EHP detection in shrimp farms. The assay has been simplified for easy and fast operation with the use of the compact and portable POCKIT™ Nucleic Acid Analyzer for EHP detection.
