After nearly three-year hard work, the first shrimp viral PCR detection kit is certified by OIE. When the Validation and Certification of Diagnostic Assays (VCDA) by OIE begins in year 2005, we soon applied the validation in year 2006. Now, it’s our honor to announce its certification by OIE.

OIE Procedure for Validation and Certification of Diagnostic Assays

As stating in the abstract, this system fits the following purposes,
1. To certify freedom from infection (<10 virions/sample) in individual animals or products for trade/movement purposes;
2. To confirm diagnosis of suspect or clinical cases (confirmation of a diagnosis by histopathology or clinical signs);
3. To estimate prevalence of infection to facilitate risk analysis (surveys/herd health schemes/disease control).
