The Global Shrimp Outlook: 2005, organized by GAA, was
held in Vietnam - Ho Chi Minh City on October 24-27. President of Farming
IntelliGene Tech. Corp.- Leo Liu is the sole delegate and also a GAA member to
take part in this program.
This program is designed to provide the best available
information for shrimp buyers and sellers on global shrimp supply, demand, and
pricing forecasts. It consists of four main sectors: Production summaries and
projections, Market summaries and projections, Strategic Outlook and Economic
Modeling.
Facing a fast and volatile
environment, it becomes evident that international markets confront subjects
such as antidumping tariffs, concerns about food safety, certification, and
traceability. Global aquacultureĦĤs production increase has made disease control
unavoidable. Farming IntelliGene Tech. Corp. , nevertheless, plays an important
role and always seeks for a better advancement by integrating experts from
practical farming industries to theoretical researchers, developing new viral
detection kits and continuously maintaining the top quality of our
products.

Farming IntelliGene had reserved a booth
at the annual World Aquaculture event held in Bali in May. At the trade show we
brought to the visitors the latest IQ2000TM test kit on IMNV and Real-Time PCR
based detection kit: the IQ REALTM virus detection series. This year we
also made two presentations related to "Shrimp Bio-security and Health
Management."
Ms. Winnie Ku,
our R&D vice-director, addressed participants on Ħ§High-Throughput Detection
Methods for Shrimp Viral Disease.Ħ¨ She introduced two high-throughput diagnostic
methods for shrimp viral disease, namely Bio-Chip system and quantitative
Real-time PCR. Both systems feature large processing capability, which are
efficiency and accuracy and are no doubt the best tools for todayĦĤs industry.
The other talk, presented by Mr. Ping-Hua Teng, director of R&D, mainly
focused on the application of an isothermal amplification approach, rolling
circle amplification (RCA), for the detection of IHHNV in L.vannamei.
The five-day event was very successful and fruitful. We would also like to take
this chance to say a big thank you to those who stopped by our
booth and
all our friends.
